MICHELLE began her own journey back in 2014 to better her health and to heal from her past traumas and anxiety.
She became a certified Health Coach in 2015 and began to not only help herself but to also help others with the importance of food choices, self care, spiritual growth and balance with work & family.
After struggling for a decade to heal from panic attacks, sleepless nights, trauma and PTSD, she stumbled on to the practice of Yoga Nidra aka Deep Sleep Meditation.
She was so shocked at how well this practice allowed her to finally relax and heal from her extreme anxieties, that she started her training of the "I Am" Yoga Nidra training under the direction of Kamini Desai. She is now certified in Yoga Nidra, advanced Yoga Nidra and Yoga Nidra for children.
This was the reason she opened Compassionate Nature Studios. She now shares the practice of this powerful meditation with everyone she meets. Yoga Nidra have her back her confidence, peace of mind and her voice.
MELISSA began her yoga journey in January 2014 after getting diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at the age of 35. She took her very first yoga class and learned the many benefits yoga had to offer cancer patients and survivors. Melissa began to notice the positive effects her practice was having with recovery from surgeries and chemotherapy. In addition, providing a greater sense of calm and well being, not to mention reduced fatigue and the incredible physical transformation.
Melissa attributes yoga to be her life saver and instrumental in adapting a happier healthier life. She completed her 200 hr yoga teacher training certificate in August 2015 and started teaching Vinyasa classes. She thought the best way to give back was to introduce yoga into the cancer community and began teaching Restorative yoga classes as part of the Integrative Therapy Program at Dorcy Cancer Center at St. Mary Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo CO. Melissa firmly believes EVERYONE can benefit from yoga. Her passion is to share her love of yoga through teaching. She is humbled how her yoga journey has come full circle.
